How often should I run my tests?

Test is frequently necessary but I need do test for all project or not? I always get this question from my business guy that how often should I execute my tests? We have new build every week. Do we need to run regression for every build?

I think it's good idea to run tests every commit using CI server like Jenkins. This approach helps to quickly detect errors and quickly correct them.
