Is Software testing a suitable stream to start in the field of information technology for freshers?

Being a student has its own dilemmas. Engineering being a vast area, choosing a field to start with is being a much difficult task to process as this one choice would be a major life decision. How is a fresher/student would know that this field is the one that they should major in?

Any stream is fine. As far as you are jumping deep into it. Keeping your focus. Down the line, after 5-6 years. You can plan to become good at automated testing and make yourself an expert in one industry.
