Are you asking Scope of Automation Testing or Automation Tester?

Yes there is a scope of Automation testing (UI is less scope (selenium) and Back end automation is more scope like API/soap UI testing)

Automation Testing helps Manual Testers to set up abundant data and test again and again. (Not with quality or bug-free product or can release fast)

Automation Tester profiles will get shortlist more and faster for Interview than Manual Tester.

Scope of automated testing is decided with the number of test cases which are repeatedly tested while approving a release. we select automatiion test cases based on following things:

1. Number of all such test cases which are part of main functional business units and need to be tested with each build.

2. All regression test cases which are used while doing regression testing after defect fixes/ making any engineering change.

3. All such cases where manual testing takes huge time. ex: some test data generation related activity where manual testing takes time to generate the test data and the use the generated test data while testing.
